2012: A Time for Family

2012 was a good year although it ended with a bit of a scare. My dad had a bad fall on New Year’s eve and had to be admitted to hospital. I’m so glad all turned out well and that he’s fine.

As I glanced at the calendar, I realised how time flies. It’s past the middle of January and I’m late for my first post for 2013.

2012 was a year of pushing boundaries and expanding my horizon. I traveled, learned more about myself, indulged in spending undivided time with the whole family, revisited and enjoyed forgotten interests, and added a new dimension to this blog.The highlight of the year was surely my trip to Maldives.

Picnic on a secluded island in Maldives

Everyone was in high spirits. We had just finished snorkeling along a beautiful reef near Huladhoo island and were really hungry. We were looking forward to our picinic on a secluded island.

As we neared Voavah island, we could see a white marquee set up for us. It was sitting pretty on the white sand against the backdrop of the sunny sky and the beautiful blue sea. It seemed to be beckoning us with the promise of good food and fun. The island looked small; and it would be ours for the afternoon. Continue reading
